Renée (Hollowell) Gandy, born in 1952, is a native of Oxford, Mississippi and presently resides not far from there . I have no formal training in art, I have a degree in science yet do not work in this area any longer. I had a leaning toward creative writing in my youth and now find that I can now express the same feelings and expressions through my art. It is still a visual message only a different vechicle.

I work predominately in oils on canvas. However, I have started exploring and experimenting with new media and have been trying watercolor, acrylics, pastels on canvas and paper. When I am in a particularly creative period, I often work in collage, using all types of media and objects to convey the mood and message I am attempting to express.
