Born 1965, Naini was raised and educated in Delhi, came to England (UK) in 1992 to pursue her vocation as an artist. Largely self-taught she worked in various media, lead, ink and wash, ink pen, water colors, stain-glass, acrylics and oils.My recent work are impressions of our solar system to whose power and mystery mankind and me, have been amazed and puzzled for centuries.
I have been painting for more than 18 years. Most of the work is based on the way I feel about this world and society. My work and life deals mainly with these issues, lack of education, women’s suppression, rape of women (physical and mental), women’s rage, some are based on incidents from past (political but at a human level as these are not lessons of history but of human atrocities), corruption at all levels, decaying values in our society, moods of life, landscapes and so on. It is the rage against this that makes me paint with intensity and hatred. images ©copyright Naini 1895
