I have always drawn and painted but for different reasons never realized that this was “my mission” until recently. My paintings always ended up given away or thrown away during my constant moves. Indeed I lived in California for 6 years, in Belgium (my home country) off and on and since 1987 in Argentina. So you might say that I am an autodidact, although I did take some classes in drawing and painting, figurative and Japanese Sumi-e, in Argentina.
Basically keen observation and interest to learn together with trial and error and this motivation inside which pushes me to create, make up my schooling. If I do not like something I created, I destroy it, painting over it.Constant exploration is one of my mottos in life, and not only in art. This is why my painting styles, techniques and media vary so much. (During the nineties I designed and produced furniture which is sculpture for me). This is also held against me calling it “immaturity”. But isn’t life about trying to be a sage? Isn’t life about trying to be a child in the sense of constant unbiased exploration, openness and happiness? My time is ¾ dedicated to creating my art, and hopefully it’ll be 100% soon. I am 50 years old with university degrees in Hotel mgmt and Bus. Admin. images ©copyright Guy Moreaux 3246
